Oliver Wyman Australia was awarded Small Employer of the Year and Gold Status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) 2021.
Just in time for Pride Month, Oliver Wyman Australia achieved the highest score amongst small employers in Australia. This is a significant improvement on last year and a recognition is indicative of a substantial amount of work and activity in the area of LGBTQ inclusion. This is our third year achieving Gold status. The award was presented in a livestreamed ceremony (and featured on a national news broadcast) on Friday, 28 May 2021.

The Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) is the definitive national benchmark on LGBTQ workplace inclusion for the country. It gauges the overall impact of inclusion initiatives on organizational culture for both our LGBTQ-identifying and non-identifying colleagues. More information about the AWEI is available here.
The GLOW team submitted a 75+ page document including all the details on our inclusive HR policies, GLOW strategy, executive support and accountability for inclusion at all levels, Training and Resources, Visibility and Inclusion, and Community Engagement. In the year that was 2020, our GLOW team stepped up to bring inclusion efforts into the virtual space, hosting virtual panels, learning sessions and Happy Hours and kicking off a digital ‘Ally August’ pledge campaign. We also joined with organisations like Wear it Purple and the Aurora Group to support their already immense efforts in the broader LGBTIQ community.
