Thomas is a Partner in Oliver Wyman's Automotive and Industrial Goods practice. He is based in Boston and prides himself on the extensive range covered by his professional experience.
I had a very broad education and I have interests in many fields. I believe that this breadth of experience has allowed me to be able to face many of the consulting challenges in my work today head on, with a solid, well-rounded history behind me.
Most of Thomas' work focuses on transforming entire organizations and taking them to the next level. That could be in special situations (restructuring a company for survival or merging two companies to create a more powerful player) or redefining a company’s strategy or organization to cope with the next wave of challenges or opportunities.
Thomas realizes how fundamentally the automotive industry will change over the next 10-15 years. He knows that with his knowledge, expertise and experience, his clients will be able to ride the wave of change and flourish on the other side. He takes pride in turning things around for businesses and seeing that they get back on top:
During my first time managing a larger project I was working with a family owned business. We had about four weeks to sort everything out for a transfer to Eastern Europe, otherwise the client would go bankrupt very quickly. We resolved it in time, the transfer was successful – and the company prospered post restructuring. That was a proud moment for me.
