Paul is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Private Capital Practice in London with over 35 years of experience in strategy consulting.
His career began with stints on the faculties of London Business School and Templeton College Oxford (the predecessor to the Saïd Business School). He turned from academia to strategy consulting in the mid-1980s upon witnessing what the profession had to offer to his students. Before joining Oliver Wyman, he ran first the Munich and then the London office of two international consultancies.
Paul's experience drawn from having worked on over 750 commercial due diligences (CDDs) over three decades, has proven vital for the development of the Private Capital Practice and for training new consultants on CDD skills.
Perhaps my biggest positive contribution was leading a commercial due diligence which helped secure the funding for the construction of a Cancer Treatment Centre at Guy’s Hospital in London: the unit is now in active service
Paul has a constant passion for learning. Over the period from 2012 to 2019, he completed a BSc in Biomedicine, and an MSc in Genomic Medicine in his spare time, adding two more degrees to his total of four, one of which is a Doctorate in Politics. However, he still considers himself more of a historian than a life scientist.
Paul has written and published five academic books, the most recent of which, “Private Equity – The German Experience”, was written together with his wife Francoise.
