Oliver is the head of the Financial Services Practice in Switzerland and also leads our Global Platform for Central Banks and Public Financial Institutions.
Oliver is currently serving major global banks, finance and economic ministries, and central banks in several G20 countries. He has vast experience as a political decision-maker, helping clients develop and implement strategies in an increasingly complex and unpredictable environment due to political, economic, and regulatory developments.
He also provides support to our clients in Germany and abroad during times of crisis when crucial decisions must be made under great uncertainty and time pressure. He tackles these challenging situations with a combination of strategic foresight and pragmatism, an approach that also characterizes his consulting philosophy.

He began his career at a global investment bank. He later served as the Head of Strategy at the newly founded Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority during and after the financial crisis.
Oliver has a doctorate in economics from the University of Zurich and is a member of the Bretton Woods Committee. He also served on Swiss committees of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and the Financial Stability Board, and during the peak of the Euro crisis, he joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff, where he was one of the heads of mission in charge of the IMF’s involvement in EU crisis countries.
When not working, he enjoys sailing in the North and Baltic Seas and hiking in the Swiss mountains, preferably in the Engadin or the Bernese Oberland.
