Based in Australia, Mark is a principal in Oliver Wyman’s Financial Services practice, leading consulting engagements with clients across the Asia-Pacific region.
He has more than 13 years’ experience as a practitioner and external consultant, cutting across a variety of topics including: balance sheet management, risk-adjusted performance measurement, capital and liquidity planning, plus various analytics and risk policy work.
Mark’s personal area of interest is in using risk analytics and measures to align incentives and promote strategic decision making. He has also worked directly within the Marsh McLennan Insights team to manage the cyber resilience, healthy societies, transformative technologies and workforce for the future research themes.
I’m often curious about puzzles and in particular the way different actors interact within systems of constraints. Behaviours that benefit the individual vs the whole can often cause conflict, and harmony is difficult to achieve without careful consideration of a complex system of incentives. This type of thinking is critical in effective problem solving approaches no matter the topic
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Mark held roles in Macquarie Group, SunGard and KPMG. He holds Bachelor degrees in Science (Maths) and Commerce from the University of Sydney, Australia as well as an MA (Quantitative Economics and Finance) from the University of St Gallen, Switzerland.
As a father of 2 young children, Mark is also part of the Family Life at Oliver Wyman (FLOW) group.
