Jens, who is based in Berlin, has more than 12 years of consulting and industry experience. He leads Oliver Wyman’s revenue management tools and analytics team. Fluent in English and German, Jens studied economics at the WWU Münster, Germany, the University of Cape Town, South Africa and the NHH in Bergen, Norway.
Within the consumer products and goods group (CPG), Jens focuses on commercial effectiveness, with a particular focus on revenue management and trade-spend management. He recently was engaged in a major go-to-market transformation (covering pricing, assortment, promotions, and supply chain) for a subsidiary of a leading global consumer electronics company “With retailers increasingly taking a cross-border perspective and consumers increasingly shopping internationally, trade spend and revenue management are becoming an increasing challenge for many consumer goods companies,” says Jens.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Jens was a founding member of a German B2C e-commerce startup. That experience taught him firsthand how technology is disrupting the retail landscape, with more and more consumers shopping across borders, in particular after the ban of geoblocking. “Price differences are more transparent than ever, to consumers but also to trade partners,” he says. “Across all CPG and FMCG sectors, even minor price differences trigger action.”
