Chris is the Vice President of Oliver Wyman Engineers: an OW capability focused on technical problem-solving and operations improvement. Chris has over 30 years of experience in engineering, program management and consulting addressing complex problems around design, planning, manufacturing and modernization along the lifecycle of complex systems. Chris was an Engineering Duty Officer in the US Navy and a systems engineer and program manager in the defense electronics industry before transitioning to consulting.

I was fortunate at the start of my career to experience the complex challenges of program management and see how policy and technical challenges impacted performance in a multitude of unanticipated ways. The experience I gathered throughout my career in different technical, management, and consulting roles is the foundation for addressing complexity-driven and persistent performance challenges in the work I do now.

Clients seek out Chris' advice in improving performance and managing risks across product development, technical launch and crisis management, manufacturing operations and lifecycle sustainment in industries that design, manufacture, and service technically complex assets. Details of some of the challenges that Chris has addressed in the past and the collaborative approach used are available through several peer-reviewed technical journal papers co-authored with his clients.

Chris is a licensed professional engineer, a retired US Navy Captain, awarded with the degrees of Naval Engineer and Master in Ocean Engineering from MIT, an MBA from Old Dominion University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering from Penn State.

Direct program management experience supplemented by years of analyzing some of the largest and most complex program challenges in the world as a consultant has enabled me to understand performance issues and guide corrective actions from a unique end-result focused perspective.
